The Centre for Global Health Research (CGHR – http://www.cghr.org) is a non-profit and non-partisan organization associated with the University of Toronto and Unity Health Toronto. CGHR’s mission is to lead high-quality public health research that advances global health, with particular attention to the world’s poorest populations. Its flagship project, the Million Death Study (MDS), is run in collaboration with the Government of India and documents causes of death across the country.
We are looking for a research assistant/coordinator candidate with a Health/Quantitative academic background to support us in various projects. The successful candidate will work closely with a team of multidisciplinary scientists and analysts working on large-scale epidemiological projects. The successful candidate will also work with project counterparts in international collaborative efforts. This is a full-time contract position for 1 year, renewable on satisfactory performance.
The successful candidate will work closely with researchers and project coordinators at CGHR to conduct data cleaning, entry, quality assurance, documentation and basic analysis for research in Global Health focused on large scale mortality studies in India and Africa. Their responsibilities will also include graphics support for publications, proof-reading of scientific material and administrative assistance as needed. Demonstrated ability to be an enthusiastic and self-motivated learner, work well independently and within a team, and be a critical thinker is essential to this position. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience and skills while contributing to a wide-range of projects in Global Health.
